Short Stories
Have just discovered that the short stories I have been writing for Magnet Magazine each month since January 2013 are available online, free. You can download back copies here. This link was previously broken, but hopefully it's working again now. Thanks for letting me know.

New e-book
The Spirit Collection.
I have finally got around to e-publishing my poetry collection, which first came out in 2000. I have added some new poems, and a lot more illustrations. There's no particular theme, although there is a leaning towards natural history... A spirit collection is the way museums store specimens which only consist of soft tissue, so they have to be preserved in alcohol because otherwise they'd decompose.

Partialy leucisitic jackdaw
This handsome fellow landed in our garden recently - a partlally leucistic jackdaw. Leucism is different from albinism. We haven't seen him again, unfortunately. Or maybe that's fortunate for the great tits, who have a number of babies almost ready to fledge...

Spring has sprung
The adders are busy on the common. Yesterday evening I was lucky enough to see two of them being extremely friendly, something I haven't witnessed before. We also have a pair of great tits nesting the garden, and what looks like a few thousand tadpoles in the pond! Spring has been very late here in Surrey, but at last there are flowers on the strawberries and blossom on the apple trees. Lots of baby figs on the fig tree, too!

Creating Imaginary Creatures
I've got a new post on Do Authors Dream of Electric Books? It's about fantasy creatures, and how we amalgamate them them from different animals that we already know, as we can't imagine what we haven't experienced.

It's my day!
I'm doing the guest spot on this blog today - it's all about how I use my travels in what I write.
